One of the greatest men alive came to visit me two weeks ago, and hes pretty much been taking up most of Roch and my time since then. Not that I'm complaining.
It's always awesome when friends from back home come over to visit. Especially since we understand oh to well the average mans financial situations. We did a lot which I'm super stoked about, pretty much everything we planned on doing, while keeping a pretty busy working schedule. Especially since Rossel only returned a few days ago to help grab the reigns of this raging star crossed beast!
We managed to catch some Chinese opera before he left too, Ive been past the opera before but this was the first time either myself or Roch had really stopped and taken it in, of course there's only so much you can take. It'd probably be easier if we understood what they were singing I guess. The most enjoyable part for me was watching the musicians, it was all live and well timed and really interesting.
Before leaving JHB a while ago I started a ship on Gareth's leg which we managed to finish while he was here. Some "moms" product placement there.. I'm enjoying their monthly red at the mo.
Suuuseee...
Went to Ha Ne in Mong Kok for some awesome sushi. The dudes featuring in the middle there with deep fried prawn and cheese on top were SO good!
Decided to treat myself with extra wasabi, so worth it.
The view from the peak on a semi cloudy/smoggy day. Got there just before the sun went down and stuck around for the always disappointing light show.
Went across to Lantau to go check out the massive Shmalla and to visit the South African Restaurant, The Stoep. The restaurant is on Cheung Sha beach (i think) anyway, something like that.
The setting was awesome and the water was warm. I managed to befriend two non English speaking gentlemen who let me have some fun on their skim board. While I sucked at skim boarding these guys were pretty impressed. And the language barrier wasn't to big of an issue when hand gestures of "no you go", "noo you go" sufficed.
The restaurant was alright. Not too authentic but the food was tasty. Never nice to have the salad for your meal served fifteen minutes before the rest of your meal. The portions were definitely not South African portions of food. The mixed BBQ (should've been braai) was a mix of four different bite sized meats. Not enough to full a boer.
Oh, and a friend ordered a Castle, which was on the menu but surprise, they had none...
SHMALLA
We finally made it to see the gigantic Buddha in all his corn row glory, he was pretty big but his glory fades as it's quickly overshadowed by the awesome mountains and view.

It amazes me how people have this urge to construct and build something magnificent for others to be in awe of. And at the end, all the beauty that surrounds it far out ways it.
Found mine and Roch's Chinese guardian dude. He's an ox, and he's pretty bad ass too!
Had some rainy days of late. The seasons changing, I guess I need some gum boots or something.
Dunno when this was, but at some point I nearly got run over.
Ocean Park (again)
But this time was by far the coolest, we took our time, took it slow and got to see pretty much everything. This time the new aquarium was open, which is awesome. And their doing so much construction all over the place. I'm guessing in like two years it's gonna be nuts. Saw them building a pretty gnarly new rollercoaster.
Sharks were cool. Pandas were rad. Red Pandas kiiiilled it! as always.
They also got a massive jelly fish area which I've never seen before, and an avery which was closed. The Abyss is still the simplist and best ride for sure.
Remember this? Well once again we were headed home with rollercoaster hangover.
Damn, we slept well that night!
